Be careful with condos in Old Montreal for even though they are the priciest in Montreal most of the new buildings are cheaply made and alot of the the old historical buildings are also cheaply renovated.
Contact the insurance companies that cover the building before you sign on the dotted line.
The condo that is mentioned is across the St James hotel and ironically most of the owner there have now also put up their condos for sale due to that montrosity of a building that was built in that once vacant lot behind them blocking the view from every single master bedroom of every condo.
Basically all you have is a view of the hotel rooms and visa versa.
The asking prices of these condos are 4 to 9 times the city evaluation and with all due respect are barely worth the city evaluation in my opinion;yet every other building in Old Montreal are listing their condos at roughly twice the city evaluation.Obiously their real estate agents are targeting international buyers for they are not having much luck with canadian buyers.

That is a hell of a lot of money for that amount of space. It would be interesting to see what this condo looked liked as the links are not working. I don't think that I would pay that much for a condo.

Anthony, Thanks for the link. But the property we're talking about isn't the same as the one you're referring to. Keep on guessing :)

Maggie, I was surprised to read the prices in Vancouver, wow. And here we are, getting outraged by 4 million. I guess we are not used to seeing that in Montreal (as often)

Thanks for passing by.

Joey, yep...I agree with you.
Danielle, haha, I don't think you'll be able to get a mortgage like that. You could try though ;)

so cheap! in vancouver a pre-sale Penthouse in The Residences on Georgia's sold to a man from Oregon for $18 million. Apparently he owns other PHs in the city. Coal Harbour (luxury waterfront n'hood) has a 41st floor PH for sale at $19,8000 for 7500 sqft. Resale condos sell for $2000 pr sq ft on the waterfront.

Are you guys talking about the L'Heritage building? The one on the water in Old Montreal, in a penthouse with 7,000 sq ft and 15,000 sq ft more outside?

The only penthouse in Old Mtl that looks over the skyline of the city AND and Ile St-Helene AND Nuns Island.

Here's the view... I think it's quite magical.
