We all go thorough stressful experiences in our lives and the stress of buying a house is a no lesser experience.

Now you know how I feel. But like I said: Patience is a must-have this summer.

Man, is this one of the things I REALLY don't miss about Montreal! I spent five days on vacation back home a few weeks ago, and I immediately fell into my old "road rage" nature. Roadblocks, one-way streets, no parking anywhere, road works, the whole Place des Arts area gridlocked due to the Jazz Fest preparations, Saint-Laurent blocked for cars (which is a good thing, except it makes driving even on adjacent streets a nightmare), ... you name it! The list never ends.

You know, for a relatively small city of 2-3.5 million (depending on wether you include the suburbs), we suffer from a MAJOR traffic/congestion problem.

On the real estate side, you know how recently a lot of buildings mushroomed in the whole festival area, with a few more on the way? I would NEVER even consider buying anythere there, EVER! Regardless of price! Can you imagine not being able to get home during a couple months every summer: Jazz Fest, Film Fest, Francofolies, Just for Laughs ... I would lose my mind! Not to mention the noise!

Considering that Montreal has many projects going on in the city by "2025", I think we'll be seeing many construction roadblocks like that one over the next forseeable 15 yrs.

Btw, I think this site http://www.montreal2025.com/ might prove to be interesting in keeping track of certain projects going around the city :)
